L’eccezionalità del ritrovamento di Nola, unico al mondo, è dovuta al fatto che le capanne, sepolte dall’eruzione vulcanica, si sono conservate attraverso il loro calco nel fango e nella cenere che le ha inglobate, sigillando anche tutte le suppellettili che si trovavano nelle stesse al momento del disastroso evento. Per la prima volta è stato così possibile comprendere la forma che avevano queste costruzioni. Si tratta di una straordinaria fotografia di una laboriosa comunità preistorica cancellata dalla forza distruttrice del Vesuvio. Dallo scorso giugno 2009, il sito è chiuso al pubblico a causa del completo allagamento dell’area delle capanne, dovuta all’innalzamento di una falda acquifera che rischia di far scomparire una testimonianza unica al mondo. E’ in corso una petizione al Presidente della Repubblica, affinchè il Villagio Preistorico di Nola non venga abbandonato e si riescano find all the right tools to complete his recovery.

Non c'è niente come l'essere trasportato in un mondo parallelo, apprendere, divertirsi, capire il mondo, confrontarsi, godere, soffrire con un libro. Nessun medium riesce ad avere la stessa intensità. L'equilibrio tra detto e non detto della lettura è un miracolo che si ripete ad ogni libro!

Sono pochini. Ricordo uno di Filippo Timi particolarmente mortale che ho dismesso senza pietà e molto nervoso. Si chiamava "e lasciamole cadere queste stelle". Da evitare come la peste bubbonica.

Come tutto il resto della casa è dis-ordinata. Sicuramente c'è un criterio, ma a noi sfugge.

only witness (2001)

It's not every day that you come across a movie with a good rhythm and that in itself gives a point in favor of this very classic thriller.

The hero is John Travolta who plays the father of the hero, a little 'overweight but still a hero. A twelve year old son with an estranged father who venerates him as rarely happens in the reality of today where the most that happens is a family-sized fuck.

The boy lives with his mother who has since seen fit to remarry. Never mind if the new husband is also a convict who has changed names and cities just to get away. The kid hates him regardless but when she discovers that her mother is expecting a baby and that his stepfather is actually a murderess decides to terminate it. Nobody seems to believe him except his father, a builder of wooden boats.

The plot is this no more, no less. Maybe it's a bit 'short for those who rightly expect always a great breath of fresh air after hundreds of films all the same to themselves. Here is the interesting rhythm. The rest is a bit 'left to itself. Actually, there is great attention to the explanation of the facts prior to the core of the story. How long has the mother's boyfriend lives with his mother? Because the two parents are separated? Why did they choose a single expression and obnoxious actor to play the part of the child?

We'll never know. The only advice I can give you is: if you have a boring evening pass by, well, this movie deserves a chance. Do not expect the final plot twists or daring leap from the couch. None of this, only a sound film that is on tracks like a train of Lego.
